Balangir: Making an appeal for the strongest of penalty for the killer of Mamita Meher, her father has demanded death sentence for Govind Sahu, the prime accused in the case.
Mamita’s father made the appeal during the visit of Odisha State Commission for Women (OSCW) chairperson Minati Behera to their house on Saturday.
The OSCW chairperson visited Mamita’s family at their residence in Jharni village of Balangir district. After the meeting, Mamita’s father also demanded government job for his son his daughter, who was killed brutally and buried by the prime accused, was the sole breadwinner of the family.
A four-member team of OSCW including the Chairperson also visited Mahaling in Kalahandi district where Mamita’s body was found buried underground at an under construction stadium near the Sunshine Public School.
The OSCW chairperson said a chargesheet will be filed and the murder case will be fast-tracked.
The team will submit a report to the State Government after inspecting the crime scene at Mahaling.
