Jajpur: A man and his minor son were killed after being hit by a train in Sukinda area of Odisha’s Jajpur district.
The deceased were identified as Bisu Penthei (30) and his 18-month-old son, Dharama, residents of Naya Bagapatia village of Jajpur’s Sukinda block.
The incident took place near Naubahali under Sukinda police limits on Sunday evening. On being informed, a team of government railway police (GRP) visited the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem.
The GRP has started an investigation after registering a case in connection with the incident, said a GRP officer.
The exact circumstances leading to the incident were unclear. The exact reason behind the incident can only be ascertained after receiving the post-mortem report, he said.
