Man Accuses Daughter-In-Law Of Selling His Grandson For Rs 20,000 In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A man has filed a police complaint against his daughter-in-law’s family accusing them of selling his minor grandson for Rs 20,000 in Odisha’s Cuttack district.

According to the police complaint, Tapan Samal, son of Rahas Bihari Samal of Kanpur village under Salipur police station in the district had married Rubina, daughter of Kanhu Charan Samal of Badakhira village under Nischintakoili police limits about 6 years ago. The couple has a son and a daughter.

About six months back, Rubina left her in-law’s house with another man along with her two-and–half-year son. Rahas and his son could not the whereabouts of Rubina for a long time. A few days back, Rahas got information that she was living with Anant Samal in Belarpa village under Derabis police station in Kendrapada district.

Rahas went to Anant’s house and wanted to meet his grandson. But Anant demanded Rs 20,000 to let him see his minor grandson.

Suspecting that Anant had sold his grandson, Rahas filed a complaint against him at Salipur police station. The police have registered a case and started investigation to trace the reportedly missing child.
