Rourkela: Having failed to pay a drug peddler, an addict allegedly allowed the former to rape his wife for over two months in Odisha’s Rourkela city.
The accused husband, the drug peddler and a driver, identified as Afroz Akhtar (38) and Danish Hussain (29), were arrested by police in this connection on Saturday night.
According to police sources, the accused used to purchase drugs from the peddler on a regular basis. Two months ago, the accused had an argument with the peddler after he failed to pay for the drugs. He then forced his 27-year-old wife to maintain a physical relationship with the peddler in lieu of payment towards buying drugs.
A few days back, the woman fled to her parents’ place. On Friday, her husband along with the peddler visited her and somehow they managed to convince her to come along with them in a car. When their car reached Nallah road, the woman escaped from their clutches and narrated her ordeal at Plant Site police station, leading to the arrests.
