Man Arrested For Attacking Son With Sharp Weapon In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly attacking his son with a sharp weapon in an inebriated condition in Odisha’s Puri district.

According to sources, the man entered into a heated argument with his son at Jagirikuda village under Krushnaprasad block in the district on Tuesday night. The situation took an ugly turn, when the man in a fit of rage picked up a sharp weapon and attacked his son brutally.

The son with serious injuries was rushed to Brahmagiri Government Hospital for treatment. But as his health conditions deteriorated, he was then shifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar. His condition was stated to be critical.

The father after being arrested by Krushnaprasad Police, confessed to have committed the crime under influence of alcohol after the two had a minor argument over a family matter, sources added.
