Man Arrested For Killing Woman After Rape Attempt In Odisha’s Boudh

Boudh: Police arrested a man for allegedly killing a woman after she resisted rape attempt in Odisha’s Boudh district on Friday.

According to sources, the incident took place in Palaspata village under Baunsuni police limits in the district where a group of artistes was staying to perform ‘Danda Nacha’. One of the performers, identified as Ugrasen Sethi, went to the house of the victim while her husband was away and tried to rape her.

When she resisted Ugrasen’s attempt, the latter hit her with a sharp weapon, killing her on the spot. Meanwhile, the woman’s daughter rushed out and informed the villagers about the incident.

The villagers caught hold of Ugrasen while he was trying to escape and beat him up. Later, they informed the police and handed over the injured Ugrasen to them.

The police have registered a case and started investigation.
