Man Arrested For Raping Woman After Tying Her Hands & Legs In Odisha

Dhenkanal: A man was arrested for allegedly raping a woman after tying her hands and legs in her rented house located under Sadar Police Station limit in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.

As per information, the incident took place when the woman was alone at the house near Gengutia railway overbridge on Friday night. The accused, identified as Hrushikesh Sahu (47), worked as a mason in a nearby sawmill.

The man allegedly entered the woman’s house, threatened her with a knife, and committed the crime. According to police, he gagged the woman with cloth, tied her limbs, and committed the crime.

Based on a complaint lodged by the woman at the Sadar police station on Saturday, a case was registered investigation launched. The accused was nabbed on the outskirts of the town after police tracked his mobile phone.

Police officials along with a scientific team inspected the crime scene and seized the knife used by the accused during the assault.

The accused was placed under arrest and further investigation is in progress.
