Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch of Odisha Police on Friday arrested a man for allegedly uploading Odia film ‘Ram’ on YouTube without permission of the filmmaker.
Speaking to media persons, Crime Branch IG Shefeen Ahmed said actor and producer of the movie Arindam Roy had filed a complaint with the police after the film was uploaded on YouTube.
Alleging that a man had uploaded the original content of ‘Ram’ on YouTube and Telegram without his permission, Arindam sought action against him and stopping the film from streaming.
Acting on the complaint, the Crime Branch started an investigation and arrested the accused, identified as Sibaram Pradhan, a plumber, the IG said.
The police have taken Sibaram on remand and were questioning him, he added.
