Rourkela: A man was arrested on Saturday on charges of murdering his wife in Rourkela in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
The accused, identified as Bikas De allegedly hacked his wife Basanti Hira to death and then hung her body following an argument at their home in Rourkela’s Timber Colony on Friday night.
The couple got married last year and had shifted to Timber Colony in May, according to media reports. Bikas is a labourer while Basanti used to work in a hotel. They had a fight on Friday night, neighbours told police, which probably led to the crime.
Bikas hails from Burla in Sambalpur district.
