Bhubaneswar: A man was arrested for allegedly thrashing his father to death in a fit of rage at Sahu Colony slum in Sailashree Vihar here on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Bijay Swain and the accused, Kuna.
According to police sources, Bijay asked his son for some money to buy vegetables. Kuna refused to give him any money and this led to a heated exchange of words between them. It took a violent turn when Kuna picked a stick and hit him repeatedly. Bijay died on the spot.
On being informed, Chandrasekharpur police reached the the slum and seized the body for postmortem. Further investigation is on.
