Man Beaten To Death In Odisha’s Ganjam In Post Poll Violence

Berhampur: A man was allegedly beaten to death at Sundipalli village under Badagada police limits of Odisha’s Ganjam district late on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Mitu Bisoi (35) of Ruguma Gram Panchayat in Ganjam’s Dharakote.

According to eyewitnesses, injury marks on Mitu’s body and legs indicated he was also hit by a sharp weapon. He was admitted to a hospital in Berhampur where he succumbed.

Though the actual cause of the attack is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the attack could be due to old animosity related to recent polls.

The accused are stated to be on run. A police investigation is underway and efforts are on to trace those involved in the crime.
