Bhadrak: A man allegedly died by suicide after beating his wife to death over a family dispute at a village in Khaira area of Odisha’s Bhadrak district.
According to sources, the incident happened at Tilada village under the jurisdiction of Khaira police station. The deceased have been identified as Babu Das and his wife Mina Das.
The couple entered into an argument over some trivial issue late on Monday night. The argument turned violent when and Babu, who was reportedly in an inebriated state, thrashed his wife and caused her critical injuries.
Thereafter, Babu also allegedly consumed poison. Both were rushed to Khaira hospital in a serious condition.
While the woman succumbed to injuries at Khaira, her husband was shifted to the district headquarters hospital at Bhadrak where he died during treatment, the sources added.
