Sonepur: A man fled after leaving the body of his wife, whom he had allegedly killed, in a hospital in Odisha’s Subarnapur district.
According to sources, the man, identified as Ganapati Pradhan of Tileimal village under Subalaya police station in the district, had married Mita Pradhan of Barapadar village 5 years back. They have a three-year-old daughter.
Ganapati used to fight with his wife over trivial issues for the last few months. On Friday morning, they again had a quarrel and Ganapati mercilessly beat up Mita. As she fell down unconscious, he took her to the sub-divisional hospital at Birmaharajpur.
After the doctors in the hospital declared her brought dead, Ganapati left Mita’s body in the verandah and fled.
On being informed about the incident, Mita’s brother rushed to the hospital and informed the police. They also filed a complaint alleging murder of their sister by Ganapati.
The police have sent the body for post-mortem and registered a case on the basis of the complaint. They have also started investigation and launched a manhunt to trace absconding Ganapati.
