Man Bludgeoned To Death, Body Found Near CV Raman College In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Body of a man was recovered from the terrace of a house near CV Raman College under Tamando police limits in Bhubaneswar on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Sushant Satpathy, who was staying in the house with other workers hired by a contractor.

Police have detained one Ranjan Deep, who was last seen with the deceased on the terrace of the house, in connection with the incident. It is being suspected that he beat Sushant to death using a iron rod after an argument.

While police have sent the blood-soaked body for postmortem, a scientific team has reached the collect evidence. The motive behind the attack, however, is still unknown.

Bhubaneswar DCP later informed that a case has been registered under Section 302 of the IPC and the murder weapon has also been seized. The accused is being questioned to ascertain the circumstances leading to the murder, he added.
