Man Caught Impersonating Police Constable Near SP Office In Odisha; Forged Letter Seized



Anugola: A man posing as a police constable was caught near the office of the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Anugola district in Odisha after his suspicious behaviour drew the attention of people.

sed has been identified as Rabi Narayan from Chhendipada area in the district. He was found wearing a constable uniform with a nameplate and badge, attempting to present himself as a cop.

Noticing his suspicious movements, Anugola town police detained him for questioning. He was taken to the police station for further interrogation. During questioning, police recovered a fake joining letter of the Odisha Police from him. He admitted to forging the letter himself.

He also confessed that he had purchased the uniform and dress code from the market. The accused told police he had long dreamt of becoming a policeman but failed to clear recruitment tests despite multiple attempts.

He said repeated failures left him mentally disturbed, prompting him to take this step and impersonate a cop. Police have initiated legal action against him as per law.
