Man Chased & Hacked To Death In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A man was chased and hacked to death by armed miscreants near Unit-I High School in Odisha capital in the early hours of Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Sushant Nayak aka Kalia (35), an employee of the Horticulture Department.

According to sources, Sushant was chased by four miscreants while returning home after dropping his wife, a BMC worker, and attacked with a sword. His sister-in-law spotted the body lying in a pool of blood around 4.45 am.

The murder is being suspected to be the fallout of a month-old police complaint which Sushant’s family had lodged against some people of the slum in an alleged rape of his minor cousin. The suspected attackers have fled, the family members alleged.

On being informed about the murder, the Capital Police reached the spot and started an investigation. Sushant’s motorcycle and phone have been seized.
