Bhubaneswar: High drama unfolded near Sishu Bhawan Square in Odisha capital on Wednesday morning after a man climbed a hoarding tower in an alleged bid to end his life.
The man, identified as Tulu Patra from Balasore district, was rescued by Fire Service personnel after two-hour-long operation. He has been detained at the Capital police station for questioning.
According to sources, locals spotted him on the 30 ft tower and informed the Fire Service personnel. A driver by profession, he was heard complaining that his wife and children were not obeying him. “The investigation is currently underway. The reason behind Tulu’s suicide bid will be ascertained after questioning,” said a police officer.
