Dhenkanal: A man allegedly committed suicide after hacking his wife to death at Khalapala village under Balima police limits in Dhenkanal district on Thursday.
According to available information, Sudhakar Badia had a heated argument with his wife Sili Badia over a petty issue. The verbal fight among the duo took an ugly turn when Sudhakar, in a fit of rage, picked up an axe and hacked his wife to death.
Fearing arrest, Sudhakar allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling of the house.
On being informed about the incident by neighbours, police rushed to the spot and seized the bodies.
However, villagers told police that the couple used to have frequent quarrels over some family disputes.
