Mayurbhanj: A man died after being trapped under a tree while cutting branches in Kaptipada area of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Kunar Hansdah from Katuria village in Kaptipada.
According to sources, Kunar had climbed a tree to cut its branches. While he was atop the tree, another tree suddenly fell on him. He remained trapped around 20 feet above the ground for an hour. Fire service team from Kaptipada arrived at the site and rescued him in an unconscious state.
He was rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Udala, where doctors declared him dead. Kaptipada police have begun an investigation into the incident.
