Man Cuts His Genitals Under Stress In Jail In Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A man, lodged in a jail for domestic violence, reportedly cut his genitals and a hand with a sharp object in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Saturday.

According to sources, the man, identified as Sushant Majhi of Tihidi area in the district, was arrested for allegedly torturing his wife. After the police produced him in the court, he was forwarded to the sub-jail in Bhadrak pending the hearing of his case.

Majhi was under stress and remaining aloof since he was brought to the jail. On the day, while security guard was around, he took a steel stand used to burn mosquito coil and cut his hand and genitals, the sources said.

However, the guards immediately noticed him bleeding profusely and rushed him to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) at Bhadrak. Later, he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.
