Boudh: In a tragic incident, a man and his minor daughter died after being bitten by a venomous snake when they were asleep at a village in Boudh district of Odisha.
As per information, the unfortunate incident took place Charichhak village in the district on Friday night when the two victims were sleeping in the house.
The deceased have been identified as Sushant Kanhar and his minor daughter Preeti Kanhar.
Sources said Sushant screamed after getting bitten by the snake. Following the development, family members and neighbours rushed them to the Kandhamal district headquarters hospital. However, the father-daughter duo succumbed during treatment.
Notably, increasing incidents of snakebites have become a cause of concern in Odisha. Snakebite deaths reportedly account for nearly 40 per cent of the total disaster deaths in the state.
