Man Detained For Killing Wife With Poison In Odisha’s Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Police have detained a man for allegedly killing his wife by giving her poison in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.

According to sources, the man, identified as Rudra Kelo of Katurakhol village under Kisinda police station in the district, used to have dispute with his wife Pankajini Kelo almost regularly. Their three children live outside.

His neighbours said the couple had a fight on Friday night and Rudra also beat up Pankajini. On Saturday morning, Pankajini did not come out of her house as usual. The neighbours also did not hear her voice also.

Suspecting something wrong, they went to her house to found what had happened to her. They found her lying dead in her room and informed the police.

When asked about the cause of Pankajini’s death, Rudra did not give satisfactory replies to police. It led the police to detain him on suspicion. They also sent Pankajini’s body for post-mortem.
