Kendrapada: In a tragic incident, a man died after getting buried in the ground while allegedly performing black magic ritual at a village in Odisha’s Kendrapada district.
As per information, the shocking incident took place at Palakana village under the jurisdiction of Nikirai police station in the district
on Tuesday.
Sources said a ritual related to black magic was being performed at the house of Chandrabhanu Maharana in an attempt to solve some family issues. As part of the ritual, a 10 feet deep pit was dug in the ground. The ritual was underway in the pit to find a piece of bone.
As the ritual was underway, Chandrabhanu’s younger brother Jagabandhu reportedly became critically ill while inside the pit as a portion of earth caved in. He was later rescued by the villagers and rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead.
Soon after the incident, one person involved in the ritual ran away from the village, while two black magic practitioners have been detained by the villagers.
