Man Dies While Trying To Save Son From Drowning In River In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: In a tragic incident, a man died after drowning in the Kathajodi river in Odisha’s Cuttack on Sunday while trying to save his son.

The incident reportedly took place at Kayibarta Sahi Ghat in Naraj area in district.

As per preliminary information, the man, identified as Saroj Sahoo of Naraj area had gone to the river for a bath with his 8-year-old son in the morning.

While taking a bath, his son was about to drown after slipping deep into the water. Seeing his son drowning, the man tried to rescue him.

Though Sahoo managed to save his son, he drowned in the river water. The locals rescued him in a critical condition and rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
