Man Dies, Wife Critical After Car Falls Into Taladanda Canal In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A man died and his wife suffered critical injuries after the car in which they were travelling plunged into Taladanda canal in Odisha’s Cuttack on Monday.

Soruces said the mishap took place on Matrubhaban- Nayabazar road when the car lost balance and fell into the canal. There were two persons in the vehicle.

Both the occupants of the car were rescued by a team of local residents, fire service and police personnel. The two were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital. The exact circumstances in which the car skidded off the road and plunged into the canal is not clear.

However, the man who was driving the car was declared dead at the hospital, while the woman is undergoing treatment. Her condition was stated to be critical.

The deceased was identified as Gyanendra Jena of Kandarpur area, while his wife Anjana is in a critical condition.
