Man Drowns In Mahanadi In Odisha’s Cuttack City

Bhubaneswar: A man drowned in the Mahanadi while taking bath at Gadagadia ghat in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Jagannath Nayak of Sutahata Upar Sahi.

According to sources, the incident took place around 10 am as he slipped while bathing and was swept away into deep waters. Cantonment police and Fire Brigade personnel launched a rescue operation and later fished out his body from the river.

Nayak’s family members claimed that he was under medication for some mental condition.
