Berhampur: A man died and his son was critically injured after they came in contact with a high-tension electric wire at a village in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Monday.
According to sources, the incident took place at Adapada village under the jurisdiction of Hinjili police station in the district in the morning. The deceased has been identified as Kora Behera of the village.
Behera along with his son Tofan had been to the farmland in the morning. While he was digging up taro root (Saru) from the soil, an 11 KV wire snapped off and fell on him. To save his father, Tofan suffered injuries after coming in contact with the high-tension wire.
The villagers rushed the two to Adapada Primary Health Centre where Kora was declared dead. The injured youth has been sent to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for treatment.
