Jajpur: In a tragic incident, a man allegedly committed suicide in Odisha’s Jajpur district after hearing about his son’s death following a heart attack.
The man has been identified as Rasananda Panda of Manasipatna village at Kanikapada panchayat under Mangalpur police limits. He allegedly took the extreme step after learning about the death of his son Streamer Panda alias Silu.
Sources said Silu, who owne
d a digital studio in Mangalpur Bazar, died after a heart attack while rushing his employee to the hospital.
The incident occurred after an employee at the digital studio allegedly consumed poison. While rushing the employee to the hospital, studio owner Silu suddenly suffered a heart attack. He returned home after feeling uneasy. As his chest pain became unbearable, he was rushed to the hospital, where he died while doctors were preparing to conduct an ECG.
Upon receiving the news of his son’s death, Rasananda was shattered and he allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself.
The employee, who consumed poison, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Cuttack and is reported to be in critical condition.
The twin tragedies have shocked the area as a family lost two members in quick succession.
