Noida: A man was killed after falling from the 43rd floor of a building in Sector 94, Noida, on Saturday. The impact of the fall was so great that the body was split into two.
The incident was reported from the Supernova Society that is under the jurisdiction of the Sector 126 Police Station.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the man had booked a room at Supernova just a day before the incident. It was on that day that the residents’ association had warned owners against renting out apartments for short stays.
The police suspect that the man took his own life over a personal issue. His identity has not been disclosed as yet.
An investigation has been initiated and the police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, as reported by News18.
On Friday, the residents’ association at Supernova had warned flat owners and tenants against renting out homes to guests for brief stays.
The Supernova Apartment Owners’ Association had circulated a notice saying residents who list or rent out flats on these platforms for short-term stays could face legal action, reports say.
In case of any untoward incidents, the responsibility would rest with the respective flat owners or tenants, the association said.
This is not the first time that such an incident has occurred at the Supernova Society. in 2023, a Delhi resident had allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 43rd floor of the building.
In the latest case, police are examining the circumstances that preceded the man’s death, including his stay at the property and the personal issues he was reportedly facing.
“Many people purchase apartments in such highrises as an investment. They then turn to property agents to arrange for tenants. In most cases, the property owners don’t even know the people staying in their apartments, so long as they receive the rent on a regular basis. This causes a problem when an incident occurs,” a police official said.
