Man Falls Victim To Cyber Fraud After Booking e-Bike Online In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A man in Odisha capital fell victim to cyber fraud while trying to book an e-bike online. The incident came to the fore after the victim recently filed a complaint at the cyber police station.

According to sources, one Alok Malla booked an e-bike of a reputed company on its mobile application. After completing the process, he received a call from an unknown number and was asked to share account details to confirm the booking.

He unwittingly shared his bank details and soon found that Rs 48,500 was debited from his bank account in two phases. He also got no response on calling back on the number to enquire about his order status.

Realising that he had been duped, Alok filed a written complaint at the cyber police station on basis of which a case has been registered and a probe is underway.
