Puri: A man was fined Rs 37,000 for allowing a minor ride his bike in violation of the Motor Vehicle Act, 2019.
Police said the minor was found riding the bike near Medical Chhack here. Traffic police informed RTO officials and seized the bike bearing registration no OR 02 BQ 7188.
Sources said Rs 25,000 fine was imposed for letting a minor to ride the bike, Rs 10,000 for not possessing pollution certificate and Rs 2,000 for invalid insurance.
Traffic IIC Gokula Ranjan Das said the minor has been banned from issuing a driving license till the age of 25 instead of 18 as his name has been enlisted in the RTO database.
