Sambalpur: A man allegedly opened fire at his estranged wife’s lover at Jhankarpada village under Charmal police limits in Odisha’s Sambalpur district late on Tuesday.
According to sources, Swadhin Pradhan’s wife Mira had eloped with her lover Pankaj Dehuri a couple of years ago and was staying with him. Swadhin lost his cool when he saw Pankaj and the woman in the village last night and fired three to four rounds of bullet using a country-made gun.
Pankaj, who sustained critical bullet injuries in his hands and abdomen, was rushed to VIMSAR in Burla for treatment and then shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.
Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt to nab Swadhin, who absconded after committing the crime.
