Man From Odisha Arrested With Ganja Chocolates In Chennai

Chennai: A man from Odisha, identified as Naren Raut, was arrested with 5kg ganja chocolates and 3kg dry ganja near Adyar in Chennai on Tuesday.

According to reports, he was detained by St Thomas Mount PEW (Prohibition and Enforcement Wing) police team near corporation ground, Trustpuram, near Kodambakkam. On checking his bag, police found ganja chocolates and dry ganja. He was arrested after failing to satisfactorily account for the ganja items in his possession.

Police have increased vigil and special raids are being conducted as part of the “Drive Against Drugs” to identify and arrest the smugglers and drug peddlers in the city limits. Special teams under the supervision of Assistant Commissioners of Police are also keeping a close watch on drug peddlers.
