Jaipur: A man paid the price for allegedly sexually harassing a married woman in a village in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district.
The 28-year-old Rakesh Rathore was beaten up, garlanded with shoes and paraded naked in Bagher village. He has been arrested, on charges of house trespass, unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures based on a complaint by the woman.
Police informed that the woman’s husband had apparently found Rathore and his wife together in his house. He was allowed to leave after a strict warning.
A day later, the woman’s husband and his friends called Rathore and took ‘revenge’.
Rathore, supervisor of a MGNREGA project, then filed a complaint on the basis of which police arrested eight people for voluntarily causing hurt, defamation and wrongful confinement.
Early questioning revealed that Rathore had recently gifted the woman a mobile phone, leading police to suspect that they have been in a relationship.
The woman’s husband is absconding since beating up Rathore.
