Nabarangpur: In a heart wrenching incident, a man hacked his two-and-a-half-year-old son to death at Katualapara village in Bobei panchayat under Raighar block of Nabarangpur district on Thursday.
According to reports, Sonu Gonda all of a sudden hacked the infant with an axe while he was playing in the courtyard of their house. He also attacked his wife, who tried to prevent him from committing the crime.
Hearing screams, some locals rushed to the spot and caught hold of Gonda. They informed Raighar police following which he was arrested.
The neighbours told police that Gonda was under some mental pressure for the past few days.
