Bhadrak: A man surrendered before police on Monday after allegedly hacking his wife Jayanti to death at Mangalapada village in Jagannathpur Panchayat under Basudevpur police limits of Bhadrak district.
The accused, identified as Prafulla Barik, confessed to the crime and said he took the drastic step as he was frustrated over a longstanding family feud. According to sources, the couple often squabbled over petty issues. The couple reportedly indulged in a heated argument, on Sunday night, following which Prafulla picked up an axe and attacked his wife, killing her on the spot.
On the basis of Barik’s statements, the police arrested him and initiated an inquiry.
