Man Hacks Wife To Death In Gajapati

Gajapati: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly hacked his wife to death with an axe at Khirasingh village under Mohana police limits in Gajapati district on Monday.

On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the body for postmortem.

An axe and a knife were seized from the accused, whom police have detained for interrogation.

According to preliminary investigation, the couple frequently fought over family issues and the man also doubted his wife of having an illicit affair.

On the fateful, they had a heated exchange of words following which the accused attacked his wife with an axe, killing her on the spot.

Police are yet to disclose the identity of the deceased. Further investigation is on.
