Man Hacks Younger Brother To Death Over ‘Property Dispute’

Boudh: A man allegedly hacked his brother to death at Jiral village in Pitambar panchayat under Purunakatak police limits in Boudh district late on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Bibhishan Swain.

According to available information, Bibhishan was sitting in his house when his elder brother Anand accompanied by his son Babula and his sister’s suddenly attacked him with an axe.

Bibhishan’s daughter Laxmi also sustained injuries in the attack. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Bibhishan, who was admitted to the district headquarters hospital, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

The incident is suspected to be the fallout of an old enmity pertaining to a longstanding property dispute.

The accused persons went absconding soon after committing the crime.

Police have started conducting raids at different places in the district to nab them.
