Bhadrak: A man allegedly died by suicide after killing his wife over some family dispute at a village in Dhamnagar area of Odisha’s Bhadrak district.
The incident, which took place at Mulna Sahi village under the jurisdiction of Dhamnagar police station late on Monday night, came to light this morning.
The deceased, who had got married around 16 years ago, have been identified as Bhaskar Samal and his wife Sasmita. They left behind two young sons.
Sources said the couple engaged in a heated argument over unresolved family matters. As the altercation escalated, Bhaskar allegedly took a knife and attacked his wife, killing her on the spot.
Thereafter, Bhaskar ended his own life by hanging from a tree outside the house. His body was found hanging by villagers this morning. They also found the body of Sasmita lying in a pool of blood inside the house.
On being informed, police personnel from Dhamnagar along with a scientific team rushed to the site and launched an investigation.
