Sundargarh: Police recovered two bodies from a house at Dumapada village under Talsara police limits of Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased couple have been identified as Hemant Dandasena and Rashmi of Damakuda village within Talsara police limits.
It is being alleged that Hemant hanged himself after smothering Rashmi with a pillow over a family dispute last night. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information from local residents this morning. They broke open the door and found the woman lying dead on the floor with her husband hanging from the roof.
According to sources, the couple had tied the knot last year. Hemant then left for Goa to work as a contract labourer while Rashmi stayed with her in-laws. When he returned during Holi, they started living separately. Soon, trouble began to brew between the two and distressed over the conflict, Hemant took the extreme step.
Police have seized the bodies for postmortem and further investigation is underway.
