Bhadrak: A man allegedly killed his wife in an inebriated state at Jalamandua village under Dhamnagar police station in Bhadrak district when she refused to give him mangoes to eat.
The accused has been identified as Kartika Jena and the deceased as Sasmita.
According to Dhamnagar police, Kartika returned home in an inebriated state late on Monday and asked his wife Sasmita for mangoes. When she told him that the children had eaten all the mangoes, Kartika, in a fit of rage, started hitting her with a bamboo plank. She died on the spot.
On being informed, Dhamnagar police reached the spot and arrested the accused. The body was sent for postmortem and further investigation is on.
