Malkangiri: A man was arrested for allegedly duping job aspirants of huge amount of money by impersonating V K Pandian’s brother-in-law in Odisha’s Malkangiri district.
The accused, identified as Ramesh Chandra Rout of Kendrapada district, was nabbed from Bhubaneswar by a team of police personnel from Malkangiri’s Mathili, sources said.
Rout was arrested following a complaint lodged at Mathili police station in Malkangiri in which a local BJD leader Sasmita Majhi has also been accused of cheating jobseekers in the district.
Sasmita, a BJD Zilla Parishad member of Mathili and another person have been named in the FIR. Based on preliminary investigation, Mathili police sent a team and nabbed Rout from Bhubaneswar. A hunt is on for the other two.
