Koraput: A 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor girl in Baipariguda area of Odisha’s Koraput district.
The accused, identified as B B Goleri of Dangajodi village under Baipariguda police limits, allegedly kidnapped the class VIII girl while she was washing utensils near her house. The accused took her to an isolated place and raped her, sources said.
After returning home, the girl narrated the ordeal before her parents following which her father lodged a complaint with Jeypore Mahila police.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation. Following a thorough probe, the police arrested the accused and forwarded him to court.
Steps were also taken for conducting a medical examination of the girl and the accused, the sources added.
