Jeypore: Police arrested one person while smuggling ganja using plastic wraps during raids at Badadebata Chhak under Padua police limits in Odisha’s Koraput district on Monday.
The accused have been identified as Dulhan Khan (24) of West Bengal’s Bardhaman district.
“While he had wrapped 8-9 kg ganja around his body and another 20 kg was seized from his travel bag. This is the latest trick adopted by the smuggler,” Nandapur SDPO Sanjay Mohapatra told the media.
Sources said that he was nabbed while waiting to board a bus. He intended to smuggle the contraband to Bangladesh through the West Bengal borders.
