Cuttack: A man allegedly hurled bombs on his in-laws’ place under Narasinghapur police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack district late on Saturday.
According to sources, windows of Sultan Mohammed’s residence were damaged in the incident. Fortunately, no one was hurt even as things inside the house were shattered under the impact of the explosion.
His daughter had Abdul Masoor of Mukundaprasad village in Khurda about four years ago. However, she was staying at her parental house following frequent fights between the couple.
“Abdul had been threatening to blow us up. Last night, he came with his friends in two motorcycles and hurled two bombs at the house,” said Sultan, who has lodged a complaint with police.
His daughter, Swaleha Parbin, claimed that Adbul had been torturing her. She further alleged that he was having an extra-marital affair and was forcing her to stay with him by threatening to kill her.
“The incident took place at around 2 am. A scientific team will visit the spot. A team has been formed to nab the culprits,” said IIC of Narasinghapur police station Bhabani Khuntia.
