Kalahandi: An elderly person was critically injured after being attacked by a wild bear at Bijalpur village under Golamunda police limits in Kalahandi district on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Basu Majhi.
Majhi was on his way to an agricultural field near his house when the animal attacked him all of a sudden. He sustained critical injuries in the attack and fell on the ground.
Hearing his screams, some villagers rushed to the spot and took him to Dharmagarh Community Health Centre for treatment. He was later shifted to the district headquarters hospital following deterioration in his condition.
