Keonjhar: A man was seriously injured after being attacked by a wild elephant at Joda in Keonjhar district on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Bijaya Nayak, a resident of Balada village under Bamebari police limits in the district.
According to available information, Nayak was on his way to an agricultural field near his village when he came face-to-face with the tusker that had strayed into human settlement. The animal picked him up in his trunk and threw him to the ground.
Nayak, who was rescued by locals, suffered multiple injuries in his legs and hands. He was later admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
