Man Killed By Nephew Over Property Dispute In Odisha Village

Puri: A man was killed allegedly by is nephew with a sharp weapon over a dispute relating to property at a village in Odisha’s Puri district on Saturday.

According to preliminary information, the incident took place at Kanthapur village under Puri Sadar police station limits. The deceased was identified as Bira Baral, while the accused Papu Barala has been taken into custody by the police.

After the murder, the body of the deceased was lying along the road and the villagers informed the police. A team of police personnel rushed to the site and started an investigation into the incident.

The body was seized by the police and sent for postmortem. Preliminary reports suggest that there was a fight between the man and his nephew relating to property matter. The accused allegedly attacked the man with a sharp weapon in a fit of rage, killing him on the spot

The murder weapon has been seized and the police are conducting a thorough probe into the incident, sources said.
