Man Killed, Minor Son Critically Injured As Car Hits Their Bike In Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: A man was killed and his minor son injured as a car hit their motorcycle in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Sunday.

According to sources, Dillip Mallik of Kalio village under Balikuda police station in the district along with his son Subrat Mallik and another minor boy, Sai Satyam, was going towards Gopalpur on his motorcycle. As he approached Gopalpur square, a car coming from behind hit his bike.

On the impact of the accident, Dillip was thrown off his bike and fell on the ground.  The back side of his head hit the hard surface and he died on the spot. Subrat and Satyam were also injured in the mishap.

On being informed by the locals about the accident, a team from Balikuda police station went to the spot and sent Subrat and Satyam in an ambulance to the district headquarters hospital at Jagatsinghpur. Later, Subrat was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.

The police have sent the body of Dillip for post-mortem. They have registered a case and started investigation.
