Puri: One person was killed in an attack by some locals at Baselisahi in Puri district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Purohit of Baseli Sahi.
According to locals, Purohit was on his way to a pond in the area when some locals. who were apparently waiting for him at the site, attacked him with sharp weapons.
On being informed, police reached the spot and rushed Purohit to local hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Old enmity is suspected to be the reason behind the attack on Purohit. Investigation is on.
